William David Sikorski, "Bill",68, of Moodus, beloved husband of Terry (Saglio) Sikorski, passed away on Tuesday, June 10th, at Middlesex Hospital. Born on September 15, 1956, in New Haven, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann Marie (Swantek) Sikorski.
A lifelong resident of Moodus, Bill loved the outdoors from an early age. He often shared fond memories of time spent with friends at Bashan Lake and Bailey’s Beach. He began his working life on a farm—an experience he cherished—and went on to continue his passion for working outdoors as a heavy equipment operator.
Bill was a proud member of the East Haddam Fire Department from May 1975 to October 1986, serving as captain at the time of his resignation.
He faced his illness with remarkable courage and grace, never allowing it to define him. Even in the most difficult moments, his love for his family never wavered. His steady presence, warm smile, and the deep care he showed in everything he did will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Terry, Bill is survived by his daughters, Christin Sikorski of Moodus and her fiancé David Kwiatkowski, and Jillian Blakeley and her husband Shane of Lebanon; as well as his three beloved grandchildren, Raelynn, Jaxon, and Jameson.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
