Todd Owen Ducas, 57, of East Hampton and formerly of Rockville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on the evening of Saturday May 1st. Born Dec. 26, 1963 in Hartford, he was the youngest son of the late John and Barbara (Goodwin) Ducas. Todd was raised in Glastonbury and had worked as a Sprinkler Fitter at many different Fire Suppression Companies, the most recent was Hart Mechanical of Glastonbury.
Todd is survived by his daughter Christina Ducas of Vernon, son Brian Ducas of Vernon, his fiancé Amy Wright and her daughter and son-in-law Amanda Wright and Benjamin Briggs, his two brothers Jeffrey O’Hara of FL, John “Jack” Ducas of East Hampton, his sister Candace Hartzell and her husband Gary of NC, nephew Chuck, niece Jennifer, grand nephew Samuel and many close friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother James Ducas.
Todd led an active lifestyle where he could be found sailing, fishing, and swimming around Napatree Point and Block Island, hiking the state forests, and riding his motorcycle on a sunny day. He loved adventuring outdoors, especially skiing the double black diamond trails in Colorado and Vermont. He was a hard worker, and worked hard to play hard.
Todd enjoyed spending his free time working on his dirt bikes and riding around the woods. When Todd was at home, he loved relaxing on the back deck with his chickens while listening to music, or watching movies with his family and kitties.
Calling hours will be at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Tuesday May 11th from 4:00PM until 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Animal Shelter of the donor’s choice in tribute to Todd’s love for animals.
