Shirley A. (Therrien) Benjamin, 83, of East Hampton widow of the late Hubert H. Benjamin, died Wednesday March 25th at Hartford Hospital. Born Feb. 18, 1937 in Pomfret, VT she had lived in Middletown before moving to East Hampton more than 30 years ago. Shirley was retired from the State of Connecticut where she worked at Whiting Forensic Institute in food service. Shirley is survived by her three sons Robert and wife Dawn Benjamin of East Hampton, Raymond and wife Kathy of Marlborough, David Benjamin of East Hampton, brother Raymond and wife Mary Murray of NY, grandchildren Jennifer Flavell, Crystal Evans, Melissa Swan, Tina Hill, David Benjamin, Robert Benjamin Jr., nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Gary Messier, her daughter Paula Hiettman and her sister Jacqueline Renniger. Funeral services are private do to the COVID 19 pandemic. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery in East Hampton.
