Shaun McGarty Obituary

Shaun Brian McGarty, 46, of Marlborough, passed away Thursday Nov. 2nd at Hartford Hospital. Born January 14, 1977 in Hartford he was the son of David and Pamela (Fyfe) McGarty. He was a 1996 graduate of RHAM High School in Hebron and had worked as CDL Driver until his illness.

Amongst many talents, Shaun was a skilled artist whose mediums included scetches, paints, and music. His creativity was known amongst his peers in the music community. Shaun also loved playing "ancient style" rudimental drums. Starting at the age of 13, he played with the Marlborough Jr Ancient Fife & Drum Corps, the Windsor Fife & Drum Corps and was a charter member of the Colchester Continental Fife & Drum Corps. He developed many lifelong friendships in this community over the years and performed all around the country and abroad.

Shaun will be remembered for having a hearty laugh and huge heart. Besides his parents he is survived by his two sons Ashton McGarty and Liam McGarty. A celebration of life is being planned and a date/location will be announced shortly.
