Roger Boober, 81, of Marlborough, CT, passed away on April 12, 2025.
Born in Millinocket, Maine, on June 8, 1943, he moved to Marlborough at age 12. Roger was the founder of The Penobscot Group, a successful local insurance business. He was known for his strong work ethic and business sense. In his spare time, he enjoyed refurbishing classic cars.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Eva Boober; his brother, Errol Boober; his sister, Eva LeBaron; and his grandson, Alexander Ayers.
Roger is survived by his former wife, Joyce Ward, whom he married in June 1964; his daughters, Marie Gannon (Mike), Robin Odum (Lee), and Cindy Mahlstedt (Carl); his grandchildren, Ryan Gannon (Meaghan), Emily McLain (Ian) Sean Gannon (Kristen), Calvin Mahlstedt (Austin), Sarah Gannon and Corynne Mahlstedt; and his great-grandson, Silas McLain. Services will be private.
