Rodney Madore, 66, of Marlborough, beloved husband of Julie (Daigle) Madore passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side, after a valiant battle with ALS. Born April 13, 1959 in Van Buren Maine, he was the son of the late Claude and Patricia (Dubay) Madore. Rodney proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and had retired from the sanitation business after over 30 years, most recently with USA Hauling of East Windsor. Rodney was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and the past sexton of St. John Fisher Church in Marlborough. He was an avid CB and HAM Radio operator and was known as the rototiller man. Besides his wife Julie he is survived by his daughter Chantal Madore of Vernon, his step daughter Danielle Dinger of Montville, his brothers Lorne, Jim, Larry, Philip, Glenn, David, his sisters Donna, Brenda,, and his grandchildren Haddam Thode, Brody and Krysta Wallace. He was predeceased by his brother John and his sister Claudette. Rodney’s family would like to thank his care team at the VA especially Dr. Patwa, Tina and Tracy, also Honora at Hospital for Special Care, and the morning and night crew for their assistance in getting Rodney in and out of bed, their friendship and their presence. Although Rodney was plagued with this disease for more than 5 years, he never complained. He decided from day one that he was going to fight, and fight, and he did. He maintained his positive outlook on life. He never felt any pain of his own, he instead took others pain away with his level of positivity and encouraging kind words.
In true Rodney spirit of helping others, Rodney donated his brain to the Boston Brain Bank to further ALS research.
