Robert Michael Puzzo

Robert M Puzzo, FLMI, 68, of East Hampton passed peacefully Wednesday (April 7, 2021) after a long illness. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years Susan (Pehlert) Puzzo, his daughter Robin Puzzo of Atlanta, GA; his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Colleen Puzzo and grandson Ronan of Malden, MA.; his brothers and their wives Joseph and Sandra Puzzo of West Hartford, Lawrence and Margaret Puzzo of Niantic, and Peter and Donna Puzzo of Lynn MA; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. Daniel and Allison Knapp of Sarasota, FL. In addition, he leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews and their spouses, and 9 grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Robert Michael Puzzo Jr., brother Francis and his parents Joseph Sr. and Philomena (Staino) Puzzo, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jon and Cynthia (Pehlert) Wilkinson.

Born December 29, 1952, in Hartford, he called Glastonbury his home throughout his youth. His interests included the Boy Scouts, achieving the Eagle Scout designation, and he became an accomplished pianist.  He served St. Paul’s parish in Glastonbury during his youth as a musician and youth leader. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1970 to proudly serve his country during the Vietnam War, becoming a LORAN specialist stationed in Sandy Hook, NJ and the Marshall Islands in the Kwajalein Atoll. Bob’s interests included chess, scuba diving, snorkeling, spear fishing, underwater photography, and golf.  Bob was an accomplished IT Project Manager in the Life Insurance and financial services industry, earning a FLMI while living and working in Chicago. Bob’s career with EDS took him to India, South Africa and Taiwan. Bob returned to Connecticut with his family and struck out on his own, starting two IT consulting companies.  He was looking forward to retirement and spending time with his fantastic grandson when his illness took him from his family and friends all too early. He was loved. He will be missed.
