Phyllis Frances (Majeski) Lord, 85, widow of the late Kenneth N. Lord, passed away Thursday Sept. 28th at Hartford Hospital. Born August 2, 1938 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Edna (Fiss) Majeski. Phyllis is survived by her three sons, William Lord and his wife Dianne of Marlborough, Stephen Lord and his wife Janice of Texas, Douglas Lord and his wife Sandy of Marlborough, her daughter Cynthia Baker and her husband Scott of Maryland, a brother Bruce Majeski, a sister Cheryl Majeski, 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Rini. Phyllis was a past President and Life Member of the Marlborough Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She had fond memories of working as "the school nurse" at Elmer Thienes Elementary School during the 1970's. Phyllis enjoyed reading and cheering on the UCONN Women's Basketball team. She spent a large part of her later life helping to raise many of her grandchildren as a "stay-at-home" Grandmother. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in the family plot in Marlboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Roy B. Pettengill Ambulance Assoc. P.O. Box 308 Marlborough, CT 06447.
