Paul Salling Obituary

Paul Edward Salling, 63, beloved son of the late Paul and Merle (Shepard) Salling passed away suddenly on Friday, July 18th at the Marlborough Emergency Center. He was born in Hartford on Dec. 2, 1961, and soon after his parents moved the family to East Hampton where he resided until his passing. Paul worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Middlesex Corporation and retired in 2021.

Paul was a devoted son, brother and friend. He is survived by his partner of eighteen years, Donna Bowerman Wollum of East Hampton, his brother Todd Salling, his three sisters Claire Salling, Donna Chalmers and Karen Dansereau and husband Richard. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara.

Paul built his home on Hog Hill in East Hampton, which he shared with his partner Donna, dogs, Gabbie and Callie, and Stella the cat; all of whom adored him and will miss his love and attention. As a long-time resident of the area, he was well known and frequently could be found helping a friend with a project or spending time at the family home. Paul was always there when someone needed him. His kind and selfless heart will be missed by all of us.

Paul enjoyed being outdoors, had been involved in sports throughout his life. In his moments of leisure, he enjoyed feeding the wood stove, repairing a car, or tinkering in the garage. He was a hard-working, gentle person who will be remembered by all those who loved him.
