Michael John Cashin

Michael John Cashin, 71, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday October 24th, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Willimantic, CT, he was the only son of Janet (Cuny) Cashin and the late F. Gordon Cashin. Michael attended high school at Eli Whitney High School. He worked in the past repairing x-ray and hospital equipment at Middlesex Hospital for many years. Michael had a love of mechanics and enjoyed tinkering on his Mastercraft ski boat. He was generous, selfless and cared deeply about his family and friends. Michael had a sweet tooth and chocolate was his treat of choice. His favorite activity was spoiling his grandchildren and he also loved being the host of the party with family. Many memories were made at the lake house he loved so much in East Hampton.  Besides his mother Janet Cashin of West Haven, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and April Cashin of East Hampton, his two beloved grandchildren Hunter and Avery Cashin, many cousins, as well as his significant other’s (Cindy Flannigan) beloved family. Michael was predeceased by the love of his life, Cindy, only hours before him. Their soulmate bond was so strong, that even death would not keep them apart. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Spring 2026, details to come. The Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton has care of arrangements.
