Lawrence Day of East Hampton was born in Montague City, MA, to Ruth (Peterson) and Howard Day on January 15, 1937. Larry grew up in Orange, MA and excelled in all sports at Orange High School and Wilbraham Academy. As a freshman at UCONN he passed up the opportunity to play Major League Baseball to continue his education and his outstanding career playing football at UCONN setting many records. He graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1959.
Larry leaves his wife of 59 years Deborah (Dodge) Day, originally of Wakefield, MA, son Jeffrey and wife Ellen of Colchester, son Kevin and wife Erin of East Hampton, grandsons Owen and Emmet Day of Colchester, Malachi and Rowan Lytle of East Hampton and his sister Barbara Day of Orange, MA. .Larry loved watching UCONN Basketball and attending UCONN Football games. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in his yard.
Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Wednesday July 14th from 6PM until 8PM Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Orange, MA.
