Kenneth E. Jones, 86, of East Hampton, formerly of Portland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 16th at Middlesex Hospital. Born May 29, 1938 in Hebron, CT, son of the late Benjamin Jones and Dora Scranton. He was retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and was a proud Union member. Ken enjoyed birdwatching, camping and woodworking. He was a great card player and fisherman, but he especially liked going saltwater fishing with his good friend Captain Joe Wysocki. He played Santa at all the Christmas parties. Ken was a wonderful father who loved his children, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandsons. Kenneth is survived by his two daughters, Edie Williams and husband Richard of Haddam, Holly Bankoski and husband Ken of East Haddam, daughter-in-law Judy Jones of Texas, four grandchildren, Kelly Bouchard and husband Joseph, Rick Williams, Veronica Jones, Julie Bankoski and two great grandsons Bryce and Benjamin Bouchard. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Lucille Jones, his son, Peter Jones, and his eight brothers and sisters. Burial will be private at a later date at Trinity Church in Portland.
