Jonathan Cubeta Obituary

Jonathan Michael Cubeta

December 27, 1979—June 26, 2020

Cubeta, Jonathan M. – 40 years old of East Haddam CT, passed away on June 26, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Nathan Hale Ray High School in East Haddam and continued his education working to get his bachelor’s degree in business. Jonathan worked at Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, along with being a Realtor with Remax. He also owned his own property management company where he was working on building his collection of multifamily homes. Jonathan was an avid lover of many things including camping, traveling, going to the beach, biking, gardening, taking care of his lawn, raising chickens and body building. Most importantly his passion was his two beautiful children that he cherished with everything he had. Sofia age 7 and Jacob age 2 will greatly miss the wonderful man they got to call their Daddy. In the short years he spent with both children he taught them so much which will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Jonathan is survived by his high school sweetheart Heather who he recently celebrated 13 years of marriage on June 16th, his parents Michael and Cheryl Cubeta of East Haddam, sister Kimberly Cubeta-Rogers and two nephews Jordan and Zachary Rogers of Norwich. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins including his Uncle Keith and Aunt Kathleen who he shared a very close relationship with. He is predeceased by his grandparents Joseph and Sophie Cubeta, Bill and Gloria Radune and Robert and Connie Thomson.

Jonathan was a very brave and strong man. He wanted to help people, especially people going through cancer who were scared. He made sure he was a listening ear and helping hand to people he knew and complete strangers going through what he was going through. He truly is the bravest person his family has ever known and will forever be thought of as a hero to many.
