Joane T. (Rutty) Colburn, 71, of East Hampton, widow of Robert H. Colburn passed away Sunday Dec. 24th at Hartford Hospital. Born Aug. 5, 1952 in Middletown she was the daughter of the late Robert and Viola (Valli) Rutty. Joane was a life long resident of East Hampton and had retired from the East Hampton School System where she was the Kitchen Manager of the Middle School. Joane was an active communicant of St. Patrick Church in East Hampton. She had a passion for her cooking shows, and was a die hard N.Y. Yankees Fan and UCONN Women’s Basketball fan. Joane is survived by her two daughters Amber Goulet of Middletown, Shannon Goulet of Norwich, a sister Louise Joyce and her husband David of Ohio, brother-in-law Robert Dennehy of Colchester, two nephews Scott and Ryan and two nieces Katie and Kristen and many friends. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sister Nancy Dennehy.
Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Friday Dec. 29th from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10AM in St. Patrick Church East Hampton, followed by burial in Lake View Cemetery.
