James L Swindal

James L. Swindal, 86, of East Hampton, husband of Jill McKane Swindal died Sunday Oct. 1st at The Hearth in Glastonbury. He was the son of the late Col. James B. Swindal USAF and Emily Glover Swindal. He grew up in Alabama and Virginia and was a graduate of Falls Church VA high School. He attended the University of Alabama, MIT and graduated from George Washington University. He was employed by United Technologies Research Center as a Senior Research Scientist, retiring after 35 years. He was granted numerous patents in the area of jet engine fuel control. He served on the East Hampton Republican Town Committee for many years, was a Past Commander of Middletown Power Squadron and an East Hampton Little League Coach. His church home was Wethersfield Evangelical Free Church. He is survived by his sons, J. Christian Swindal of Ridgefield, Jonathan L. Swindal (Mae) of Cape Canaveral FL and his grandson Mason L. Swindal of Irvine, CA. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. “Sheltered safe in the arms of God.”
