James Blancato Obituary

James Joseph Blancato, 65, of Moodus passed away at his home on Sunday August 4, 2024. Born April 5, 1959 in New Britain he was the son of Joseph Blancato and the late Diane Blancato.  Besides his father, he is survived by his step mother Carol Blancato of Farmington, the mother of his sons Adriana Brown (Michael) of Moodus, his sons, Veteran Michael Blancato of East Hampton, Justin Blancato and wife Jessica of Old Saybrook, his two sisters Cora Blancato of Moodus, Michele LaPila and husband Michael of Moodus, his four grandchildren Caprice, Antonio, Charlie, Jackson, his nephews Louie and Anthony LaPila and step brother Stephen Parmelee from MA.

Jamie was an extremely proud family man, especially proud of his two boys, grandchildren and his lifelong love and best friend, Adriana. A self-taught guitar player, Jamie had a passion for music, most notably Jimi Hendrix and all things classic rock. Jamie also loved the outdoors. From hiking and fishing to tending to his yard and building stonewalls, Jamie was most comfortable in nature. He cherished his family vacations(especially to Maine), car rides (particularly in his Jeep Cherokee- that he would let everyone know had over 300k miles), the beach and swimming, and his beloved Pittsburg Steelers.

Jamie was a dedicated and hardworking member of the telecommunications industry for decades. He was prideful of his work and can tell you every pole he serviced and climbed, and he would indeed tell you.

Jamie was quite outspoken and headstrong yet had an enormous heart and would go out of his way to help others in need. His young hearted nature kept him always smiling and joking, in good times and bad. Jamie will be dearly missed and remembered by his loved ones and his legacy will live on through his sons and grandchildren.
