Haywood “Woody” Gallmon Jr. passed unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
Born September 1, 1948, in Mooresville, N.C., he was the son of the late Haywood Allen Gallmon and Helen Phifer. Woody grew up in Mooresville, with his siblings Ralph, Jordan, Faye, and Grace. He then spent many years working on a horse ranch in Lake George, NY, before settling down with his wife, Karen (Johnson) Gallmon of 51 years in Connecticut. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and being part of the outdoors. Before his retirement he had worked for Becon Industries in Bloomfield CT as a Welder/Fabricator for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, two sons; Eric Gallmon, of Portland, and Mark Gallmon, of Florence, S.C., a daughter, Regan Gallmon, of Manchester, and his beloved grandchildren, Faith, Matthew, Nathan, Skylar, and Landon.
Friends may call at Spencer’s Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton, Sunday, November 10, from 4-6 p.m. Pastor Valerie Seaver, of the Marlborough Congregational Church, will perform a memorial service at 5:40 p.m. to celebrate the life of our Beloved Father and Friend.
