Harry G. Oslund Jr.

Harry Oslund Jr. 82, of East Hampton, husband of the late Patricia Oslund, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023 at Portland Care and Rehabilitation Centre after a long illness. Born May 28, 1941 in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of the late Harry and Catherine Oslund. Harry was a graduate of Cromwell High School and served his country in the Marine Corp. from 1963 until 1969. He taught in the New Britain school system for 37 years as an English Teacher and Reading Consultant. Harry also served as a Boy Scout Leader in East Hampton for many years. Harry had a love of travel, his favorite place being Alaska. He also traveled to Ireland, India and Italy with his family and friends. He also had an incredible talent for woodworking, creating some beautiful furniture for his home.

Harry is survived by his daughter Lisa Zablonski and her husband Robert, son David and his wife Susan, granddaughter Sarah Bowser and her husband Jacob, granddaughter Melissa Zablonski and her fiancé Michael Teed, great grandchildren Amelia and Colin Bowser, sister Catherine Abelhauser and husband Al, sister in law Rachel Wiltsie and cousin Joanne O’Brien, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia, parents Catherine and Harry and his brother Charles Wiltsie Jr.

Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 main St. East Hampton on Friday Sept. 29th from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. Burial will be Private in St. Patrick Cemetery. The family would like to thank Portland Care and Rehab Centre for the compassionate care Harry received these last two years.
