Frederick R. Dill, 94, widower of the late Barbara (Bragdon) Dill passed away Tuesday Nov. 14th at Chestelm Health and Rehab Center in Moodus. Born July 7, 1929 in Middletown he was the son of the late Emil and Olga (Fritz) Dill. Fred was a graduate of East Hampton High School and had worked in the construction business along with several other careers. Fred had been a lifelong resident of East Hampton and East Haddam. He was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in East Hampton, and a former Lieutenant. of the East Haddam Volunteer Fire Department, and the former sexton of Waterhole Cemetery in East Hampton for many years. Fred loved taking care of his lawn and his vegetable garden. He would leave the extra produce on a table by the street for others to enjoy.
Fred is survived by his two daughters Cynthia Dill of East Haddam, Judy Dill of Stafford Springs, three grand daughters Jessica Lecza, Michelle Panciera, Jennifer Simpson and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Barbara, son peter Dill and grandson Christopher Schiebel along with his six siblings Helen, Bill, Gus, Irv, Harry and John. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday Nov. 21st at 11Am in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in East Hampton followed by burial in Waterhole Cemetery.
