Franklin Angelo Quaranto

Franklin Angelo Quaranto, 88, of Marlborough, widow of the late Joanne (Calabrese) Quaranto, passed away Saturday May 7th at his home. Born Feb. 1, 1934 in Providence, RI he was the son of the late Amedeo and Anna (Piccirillo) Quaranto. Franklin proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command during the Korean War. Franklin was retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft where he had worked as an Aeronautical Engineer. He was a long time parishioner of St. John Fisher Church in Marlborough where he and his wife Joanne were founding members. Franklin was active in the Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister, and with his wife Joanne had helped to run the Catechism Program. He was a member of the Marlborough American Legion, the VFW and was an accomplished pilot who loved to fly. Franklin is survived by his son Paul Quaranto and his wife Christine of Marlborough, his daughters Barbara D’Amato and companion Douglas Orr of Shelton, Tony Tyler and her wife Terri of Lebanon, his brother Armond Quaranto of FL, four grandchildren Tom, Stephanie, Eric, Lauri, and six great grandchildren Sam, Scarlett, Luna, Emily, Jackson, and Jessica. He was predeceased by his wife Joanne, daughter Laura and grandson Christopher.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday May 13th at 11:30AM in St. John Fisher Church in Marlborough. Burial will follow in Marlboro Cemetery with Military Honors.
