Emily K. (Siegmann) Foster, 35, of Moodus, beloved wife of Steven Foster passed away Thursday July 31st at Yale New Haven Hospital Smilow Cancer Center surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 14, 1989 in Middletown she was the daughter of William and Cheryl (Fay) Siegmann of East Haddam. Emily grew up in East Haddam and was a 2007 graduate of Nathan Hale Ray High School. As a little girl she enjoyed racing RC cars with her father, and dance classes. Emily loved going to Kirby VT with her family where she acquired the nickname “Emy the Hemmy” because she was always under “pop,s” feet when she was little. It became a second home for her, many weekends were spent snowmobiling on the vast trail, riding the old ford tractor and picking weeds for pennies. After high school Emily worked in accounts payable under the supervision of her aunt Jodi at Jackson Chevrolet and eventually moved on to become a bartender at the Town Tavern, where she left a lasting impression with everyone she spoke to. Emily loved the outdoors, she was an avid gardener and was always admiring the beauty around her home that she had built together with her husband, but most of all she loved being a wife and wonderful mother to her two daughters.
Besides her husband Steve and her parents she is survived by her loving daughters Madelyn and Lillian, her maternal grandmother Doreen Fay “Mama” of East Hampton, her mother-in-law Mary Foster “Mimi” of East Lyme, brothers-in-law Ryan Foster of East Lyme, Ben Foster of East Haddam, Aunt Jodi Fay Stubbings (Dan) of Lebanon, Uncle Stephen Fay of East Haddam. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather George (Bud) Fay “Pop”, her paternal grandparents Warren and Lorraine Siegmann, and her father-in-law Robert (Butch) Foster “Pop- Pop”.
Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Sunday Aug. 10th from 4:00PM until 6:00PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will take place on Oct. 11th at a time and place to be determined. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the CT cancer foundation in Emily’s name or to the families Go Fund me.
