Emidio Joseph Carnicelli, 82, of East Hampton, beloved husband of Claire M. (Dodd) Carnicelli, passed away Wednesday Oct. 2nd at Autumn Lake in Cromwell. Born Dec. 1, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Quentino and Elvira (Ortenzi) Carnicelli. Joe, as he was known, was a cartographer drawing maps for The Weekly Reader, a popular children’s school newspaper. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and an avid collector of trains and toy cars. He enjoyed golfing, camping trips with his family and the warmth of his woodstove, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Besides his wife Claire, he is survived by his son Devin Carnicelli and his wife Jennifer of Guilford, his daughter Dawn Friscia and her husband Michael of Medfield, MA, and his brother Quentin Carnicelli and his wife Jennifer of PA, and his two beloved grandsons Mark and Danny Friscia. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday Oct. 9th at 11AM in St. Patrick Cemetery in East Hampton.
