Elizabeth Anne (O'Rourke) Schreindorfer

Elizabeth Anne (O’Rourke) Schreindorfer, 91 ½ , of East Hampton, CT died peacefully with her daughter Kim by her side after a brief illness. She was born on March 21, 1934 in Hartford, CT the 4th of 11 children to Thomas and Elizabeth (Whelan) O’Rourke, Irish immigrants from Moate, County West Meath and Balscadden, County Dublin in Ireland.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years William Schreindorfer, sisters Evie Rockett, Patty Jean O’Rourke, Terri O’Rourke, brothers Tom, Denis and Jack, son-in-law Shaun Fredrick.

She is survived by sisters Eileen (Bill) Drolet, Sally Accatino, Janet Williams, brother James (Maria) O’Rourke and sisters-in-law Marilyn O’Rourke and P.J. O’Rourke. She is survived by her children Kim (Kevin) Kiely, Thomas (Lori) Schreindorfer, Beth (John Ruszala) Fredrick. Seven grandchildren Eileen (Dave) Erlandson, Sheila (Brian Robinson) Kiely, Patrick (Jamie) Kiely, Tom Schreindorfer, Taryn (Tom Peluse) Schreindorfer, Shaun Fredrick, Shelby (Rob) Briggs. Five great grandchildren Wade and Kiely Erlandson, Macklin and Maeve Kiely, Kinsley Briggs. She fondly called them “the little ones”, they brought smiles and laughter to her face every day. She truly loved them more than words can describe.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who visited and called often, and by her cousins in Dublin, Ireland. She had a full life with family as her constant companions. She was respected for her opinions and advice, admired for her fortitude and her incredibly accurate memory and she was absolutely loved in the best sense of the word.

There will be a graveside service in St. Patrick Cemetery on Friday August 15th at 11:00AM. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Middlesex Hospice.
