Obituary
Elizabeth (Betty) Montgomery, 85, formerly of Moodus, wife of the late Joseph L. Montgomery, passed away January 23, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital. Betty was born in Middletown on May 12, 1937, a daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Agnes (Bower) Knight. Betty enjoyed traveling and loved taking her dream vacation to Hawaii. She enjoyed making pies around the holidays, reading a good novel and making puzzles. Betty also enjoyed spending time with her dog Sabrina. Betty is survived by her daughters Betty Lou Miller and her husband David of Indiana, Patricia Reardon and her husband William of Meriden, Barbara Conti and her husband Peter of New Haven, Katherine Brooks of Moodus, her sons Joseph Montgomery of Kensington, John Montgomery of Florida, her 11 grandchildren and her 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Stanley Montgomery. Betty’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Saturday January 28th from 10:00AM until 11:30 AM, followed by interment in St. Bridget of Kildare Cemetery in Moodus.
