Edward A Clapp Jr.

Edward Arthur Clapp, Jr. of Middletown, beloved husband of Lauralei Landry Clapp died peacefully Thursday December 15th after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born Sept. 15, 1951 in Cromwell he was the son of the late Edward Arthur Clapp, Sr. and survived by Barbara Young Clapp.  Edward is survived by his children Trisha L Erickson & her husband Paul of Meriden, Shaun D. Clapp & his wife Tamara of Middletown, stepchildren Sheila and Beth Brady of Colchester and Scott McKinney of Middletown, sister Barbara Bursey of Newington and predeceased by his brother William R. Clapp of Rocky Hill and was a doting and Grandfather to Holly & Hunter Erickson, and Nicholas, Jazmyn, and Caroline Brady and Uncle to David, Brittaney, Matthew, Araya, Charlize.

Ed retired after 41 years of service as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown.  He was an avid deep-sea fisher and loved being on the ocean.  Many remember him for boat days on Bashan Lake.  He treated everyone like family.  Friends and family may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main Street East Hampton Tuesday December 20th 6pm-8pm.  Funeral services will be at 11am Wednesday December 21st 2022 at the funeral home and will be followed by burial in Union Hill Cemetery 39 Middle Haddam Rd., Middle Haddam.
