Edith (Bleeker) Perry, 89, of Portland passed away peacefully at Cobalt Lodge Healthcare on Tuesday, September 30th,2025. Born in Ziegenfurt, Germany on July 4th, 1936, she was the daughter of the late August and Wanda (Fritz) Dijer. Edith lived in East Hampton and then moved to Portland and was the owner and operator of two restaurants, first Pete's Diner and later Edie's Place (now the Eggs Up) both in Portland. She was proud to be a business woman. Edith was married to the late Peter Bleeker with whom she had her three children and then to William Perry who passed away in 1990. Edith is survived by her two sons Petrus Bleeker and his wife, Laurie, of East Hampton, Chris W. Bleeker and his wife, Rebecca of Rhode Island, her daughter Sonya Duquette of Georgia, her brother, Helmut Dijer and his wife Rose of East Hampton. Also, her three grandchildren, Emery Duquette, Alana Clark (Geoff), Rebecca Pike (Stephen), and her two great grandchildren, Blakely Clark and Colton Pike. She was predeceased by her brother Otto Dijer and her sister Ellie Klisowski.
