Dorothy DiStefano Obituary

Dorothy H. “Dottie” (Sciacca) DiStefano, 79, of East Hampton, CT, passed into eternal rest on December 30, 2020 after a brief illness.  Dotty was born in Middletown on February 6, 1941 to the late Zeferina (Aresco) Marchese and Frank Sciacca. 

 Dotty retired from Rapidprint Inc., where she worked for over 30 years, and continued to work into her seventies at Whelen Engineering.  She spent many hours crocheting and creating her signature dish towels, joyfully handing them out to anyone and everyone she knew.  Dotty also spent much of her time with her precious cat “Little One”.

 Dotty is survived by her husband of thirty-five years Paul DiStefano, her daughter Darlene Cote of Clinton, CT; her son Paul Scionti and his wife Christine of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Darielle, Ashley, Alyssa and Arianna; two great-grandchildren, Sebby & Vinny and numerous nieces and nephews; her step children, Paul DiStefano Jr and Cathy Fournier.  Dotty is also survived by sisters, Gloria Bartolotta, Ada Dills and her husband Lee and Margi Mathewson, all of Middletown.  Dotty was predeceased by brothers, Guy, Louis, Hugo, Til and S. William "Willie" Sciacca; Sister Evelyn Statkiewitz.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association to continue the fight to end this disease.
