It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dottie” Burdick-Heise, age 95 on November 4, 2025. She was born in Willimantic to Rosario and Aurora Bedard. After marrying Robert M Burdick, they lived in East Hampton where they raised their 8 children. She worked as a nurse at Middlesex Hospital for 25 years. After her husband passed, she was fortunate to meet and marry Brooks B Heise Sr and they resided in Haddam for 20 years. Together they enjoyed many trips abroad and spending summers at OKP in Westbrook. An avid reader, she could always be found sitting in her chair at the beach with a book. She loved her family, friends, the beach, books, movies, knitting, and anything sweet.
She leaves behind her 7 surviving children: Patricia McGlynn, James Burdick, Daniel Burdick (Patti), Peggy Radcliffe (Art), Pamela Rizy (Art), David Burdick, Paula Agogliati (Michael). She had 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Roger Bedard, her husband(s) Robert M Burdick, and Brooks B Heise Sr., a daughter Cynthia Burdick and son Thomas Burdick (Jacqueline).
The family would like to thank the staff of the former One McDonough Place in Middletown and Masonicare of Middlewoods in Newington.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 9:30 am at St. Patrick’s Church, East Hampton followed by a gravesite service at St. Patrick’s cemetery.
