Doris May (Brewer) Lawson, 97, of East Hampton, died Thursday (November 16, 2023) at Marlborough Health & Rehabilitation. Born March 2, 1926 to Annie C. (West) and Anton K. Brewer. Doris was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 62 years Kenneth E. Lawson. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Doris spent the entirety of her life in East Hampton and graduated from East Hampton High School in 1944. She studied to be a cadet nurse at St. Francis Hospital during WWII. Doris worked at both St. Francis and Middlesex Hospital, before spending 13 years as a school nurse for the East Hampton School District. She was a Charter member of the St. Patrick’s Guild and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. When able she loved spending time getting her hands dirty in her gardens. An avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan and lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, she could always be found watching a game in her recliner with her cat Tigger watching over her. Doris is survived by her sons: Kenneth E. Lawson Jr. of East Hampton and Brent A. Lawson and his wife Barbara of Troy, ME; her twin sister Dorothy (Brewer) Lawson of Florida; her grandchildren Tanya Seay and her husband Hank, Gwen Lawson, Jared Lawson and his partner Susie Gobelle, and Stephanie Lawson; her great-grandchildren Boomer Seay, Aaron Seay, Colt Seay, Jake Seay, and her bonus great-grandchildren Hannah and Toby Simpson; as well as her great-great-grandchild Harper Seay.
