Donna L (Manafort) Robinson of East Hampton, CT died unexpectedly on Saturday September 19, at the Cobalt Health Care Center after a brief illness. Donna was born to Anthony and Elaine “Bunnie ”(Celley) Manafort on July 6, 1944. She grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School. After graduation she moved to East Hampton. There she met and married the love of her life, William “Bill” Robinson, the man who remained devoted to her for 54 years.
Donna worked in the East Hampton school system, eventually opening Noah’s Ark Daycare and Early Childhood Development Center. Even twenty five years later, young adults, former students, would bring their children to meet the lady that they still affectionately referred to as “Mrs. Donna”. Born with a strong will and a wicked sense of humor, she could give a master class around the kitchen and after dessert take your last dime in a gin rummy game.
In addition to her husband, Bill, Donna leaves to mourn her passing , her son William A. Robinson of Reno, NV, ( to whom she attributed many grey hairs) but she adored him “almost” every day of his life. She also leaves her brothers, Robert of South Dakota and Jon (Elisa) Manafort of Old Saybrook and sisters-in law, Mary Robarge and Catherine (Michael) Roeder. Finally she leaves her 4 legged “daughter” Bailey and “Grandson” Oliver who have never given her grey hair. Beside her parents she was predeceased by her brother James and his wife Nancy.
There are no calling hours, a memorial mass will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made in Donna’s name to the CT Humane Society. Spencer Funeral Home, East Hampton is in charge of arrangements.
