Dawn Elizabeth Planeta

Dawn Elizabeth Planeta, 56, of East Hampton, beloved wife of Thomas Planeta died peacefully May 25th at Middlesex Hospital after a brave 15 month battle with cancer. Born Oct. 7, 1964 in Queens, NY she was the daughter of Ardys (Brown) Schufer and the late Everette Hubbard. Dawn was raised in East Hampton and had worked for over 30 years for the Nichols Bus Service as a school bus driver. While being a bus driver, she also worked in the cafeteria at Center School and then at the High School. She then worked in the Deli Department at Stop and Shop. With her love of cooking she was always able to bring family together. She was the go to person when something needed to get done. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother Ardys Schufer of East Hampton, two sons Thomas Planeta III of East Hampton, Benjamin Planeta and wife Emma Dacosta of Texas, a daughter Samantha Planeta of East Hartford, and her sister Carrie Lamarr of East Hampton. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Wednesday June 2nd from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sandy Peszynski Breast Cancer Foundation 93 East High St. East Hampton, CT 06424.
