David Tobias Romanchik,70, of East Hampton, loving companion of Laurel Ranson, passed away Sunday Sept 10th at his home. Born Nov 12, 1952 in Allentown, PA he was the son of the late Tobias and Anna (Billets) Romanchik. David had worked as the Fleet Supervisor for New York State Electric and Gas until his retirement. He was a Volunteer Firefighter in Sherman CT and most recently in East Hampton CT. During his lifetime Dave was an avid Harley Davidson rider. He completed two cross country trips on his bike and participated in multiple fund raising rides in many states. His love of dogs was immense. In particular he adored his beloved Chihuahua, Tinkerbell along with multiple Miniature Pinschers that he had rescued over the years especially Lacey. As an ASE Certified Master Mechanic, Mr. Fix it could repair anything! His generosity was overwhelming. Most importantly, Dave was not only a father to Sara and Emily he was a new Granpa! He was so excited to welcome the first grandchild into our family and was ready to show her everything he knew. Dave is survived by his loving companion, Laurel Ranson, his brothers Gerrard and Roger his stepdaughters, Sara and Emily and his beautiful granddaughter, Eloise Elizabeth.
