Clifford E. Wise, 91, left this world peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on November 14, 2023. Born on a small farm in Clay, PA to parents Harry and Irene Wise on May 22, 1932, he was the oldest of five children. In 1951 he joined the U.S. Navy and served most of his time on the USS Miller as a boiler tender in Korea. When he wasn’t aboard he was falling in love with Miss Betty Biondi of East Hampton. Upon his discharge, he moved to East Hampton Ct to marry Betty and begin their lives together on Tartia Rd. Together they raised their daughters Penny and Lisa Wise. Cliff enjoyed retirement from Pratt & Whitney after 38 years of dedicated service. Clifford was known for his tractor collection, his tattooed Navy birds, visits to the East Hampton VFW, where he was a Life member, and enjoying his time with his family and his black labs, especially Leroy and laughing and bonding with the chipmunks. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Irene and Harry, wife Betty infant son Michael Wise and daughter Penny Varni Tarsi. He is survived by daughter Lisa and her husband William D’Erocle, granddaughters Allison Leue and Jessica Andrews and their husbands Brendan McCooe and Joshua Andrews. His true passion and love was for his great grandchildren whom he adored, Jesse and Brett Andrews, Erick and Leigha Leue and James McCooe. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Saturday Nov. 18th from 9:30AM until 11:30AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30AM followed by burial in Lake View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the East Hampton VFW so they may continue to support our communities’ veterans. A special thank you to those who loved and adored Cliff as much as we did. And to the Middlesex Hospice for their compassion and support.
