Clara Condron Obituary

C. Jane Condron (McGee), 88, of Haddam Neck Road, East Hampton CT died peacefully at Chestelm Health & Rehab Center in Moodus CT on Monday May 27, 2024. Jane had been a Chestelm resident since early 2021.

Jane was born in the small town of Timblin in western PA. Her parents were Telford and Blanche (Stiffler) McGee. She attended Dayton High School, then married her sweetheart Earl after her graduation, and was married for 50 years until his death in 2005. They moved to Williamsport PA where he studied machine making after returning from active US Army duty in Germany. They settled on Haddam Neck Road in 1961 with baby son David, who currently lives in New York City.

Jane was an active member of the Haddam Neck Covenant Church for 62 years. She often served on the Hospitality and the Nursery Care committees. She was a talented baker known for her fruit pies and her out-of-this-world cinnamon buns.

Jane and Earl's second son Dana was born in 1970. Jane continued her parental involvement in Dana's education as she had done for her older son David. Dana lives in Parsonsburg MD with his wife Katrina and son Logan. Jane took great pride in Logan, often showing others his picture.

Jane had a special bond with her three sisters Mary (Keith) Heitzenrater of Pittsburgh PA, Anna (John) Gorski of East Hampton CT, Arlene (Norman) Lapiene of North Franklin CT and with her deceased brother Sam (Ruby) McGee. She was close with her sister-in-law Kathleen (Frank) Toven of Reynoldsville PA. Jane was a loving Aunt and Great Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Jane had significant long-term friendships with Stasia Murray, Sandy Fries and Ellen Steinbuchel.

Jane was chatty with great interest in others. She often provided kindness and help to others without seeking acknowledgement. She delivered Meals-On-Wheels well into her seventies, saying she was helping the old people while she herself wasn't much younger.

Jane was a loving, sweet and caring wife, mother, family member, neighbor and friend. She made an impression on everyone she met. She will be missed.
