Christine A. Castonguay, after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer, died peacefully at Middlesex Hospice on Sunday October 17, 2021. Born on February 3, 1971 to the late Fernand and Jacqueline Castonguay (Levesque), Christine was raised in Bristol. She was a longtime resident of East Hampton, an employee of the town of East Hampton in the Land Use Department and previously the Chatham Health Department. Her boss, Planning and Zoning Official Jeremy DeCarli, was a mentor and trusted friend. Christine will be remembered for her kind words and infectious smile. She most enjoyed spending time with her beloved nieces Brynn and Caitlyn Castonguay Stone and had a true fascination and love for genealogy, which she shared with her cousin Charles Castonguay and uncle Alred Levesque.
She is survived by her longtime partner and the love of her life Michael Roy, her sister Debra Castonguay Stone and her brother Bernard Castonguay, both of Bristol, her nieces Brynn and Caitlyn Castonguay Stone and Mary and Gabrielle Castonguay, a very special Uncle Louis Castonguay and Aunt Rita Cyr, of Bristol, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins which include aunts Rachel Dionne, Denyse Fillion, Suzanne Beaulieu and uncles Rino (and Patricia) Levesque, Paul (and Ellen) Levesque, , Alfred (and Andree) Levesque.
Christine is predeceased by her parents and her brother Joseph Fernand Castonguay.
Her life and legacy will be honored in a ceremony at Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St, East Hampton on Sat. Oct. 30 from 11am to 1pm. Donations can be made in her honor to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
