Catherine A. Tokarz, 76, of Portland passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on Wednesday Jan. 25th at Middlesex Hospital. Born Dec. 9, 1946 in Middletown she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Tessie (Bajorek) Tokarz. Catherine was a lifelong resident of Portland and had retired from Lyman Products in Middletown. She had been a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Portland and was an avid reader. She enjoyed weekend trips with family, but most of all she loved taking care of her family. Catherine was a beloved aunt that will be deeply missed. She is survived by her nephew William Tokarz and wife Allison of East Hampton, her niece Tracy Moody and husband Chris of VA, and her great nieces Brooke and Jordan Moody. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Tokarz and her twin sister Henrietta Prickett.
Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Saturday Feb. 4th from 10:00AM until 11:00AM with a funeral service at 11:00AM. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Portland.
