Catherine Dreimiller Roy, 62, of East Hampton passed away peacefully at home with loved ones on November 27, 2023. Cathy was born in Camden, New Jersey on December 10, 1960. Cathy grew up in Gales Ferry, CT and graduated from Ledyard High School Class of ‘78, where she was varsity cheer captain and went on to chair many class reunions. She later earned her Fine Art degree from UConn, where she met her husband “B.” While Cathy called Connecticut home, her heart was in Ticonderoga, NY, where she spent every summer on the lake with her beloved siblings, parents, cousins, aunts and uncles––a tradition that lives on with
Cathy was a talented artist and loved sharing her creations with everyone she encountered. She could often be found behind her sewing machine, making handmade Halloween costumes for her girls, winter hats for their friends, costumes for the school play, curtains for clients, or custom-tailored designs for her best bud Keith. Cathy loved planning events for her Spice Hill neighborhood, leading camping trips and
crafts with her Girl Scouts, and creating elaborate cakes for any occasion. She loved any chance to put her creations in the hands of others, including her beloved custom-painted lighters that so many are lucky to have today.
Cathy was a one-of-a-kind soul and loved meeting new people wherever she found herself, whether it be at a UConn Huskies game, meandering through the state forest, or crowd-surfing onto stage at Warped Tour. Wherever there was music, Cath went. Wherever Cath went, there was music. You could always count on her to play DJ––at pool nights with her teammates, her backyard bonfires, or vibing on her beloved balcony with her favorite people. She loved to share that her proudest accomplishments in life were her three daughters.
Cathy is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Jule Dreimiller, her in-laws James and Viola Roy, and brother in-law Mark Roy. She is survived by her husband Bruce, daughters Samantha, Mandy, and Carly and their partners Tyler, Justin, and Owen, brother Michael Dreimiller (Laura), sisters Carolyn Provost (Scott) and Lisa Weber (Robert), nine nieces and nephews, and her favorite companions Keith and
A Celebration of Life will be held on Cathy’s birthday, December 10th, 2023, between the hours of 2:00pm and 5:00pm at Stubborn Beauty Brewery, 180 Johnson St., Middletown, CT.
