Arthur Norman Scherp Sr.

Arthur Norman Scherp Sr., 84, of Sterling and formerly of East Hampton, beloved husband of Helene (Tibbals) Scherp passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday Dec. 7th 2022. Born Feb. 24, 1938 in Middletown he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Scherp. Arthur graduated from East Hampton High School and was retired from the Carpenters Union. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1955 until 1959. Besides his wife Helene , he is survived by his son Arthur Scherp Jr of Marlborough, Jeffrey Scherp of Voluntown, Thomas Scherp of Sterling, eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Michael Scherp, daughter Susan Scherp, brother Edward Scherp Jr., and his sister Carol Baranello. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St East Hampton on Wednesday Dec. 14th from 9:30 AM until 11:00AM.
