Arnold Cosgrove Obituary

Arnold Cosgrove, 87, of Marlborough, CT, passed away on May 27, 2024, at Hartford Health Care surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on September 8, 1936, in Hartford, CT.

Arnold is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Sulzinski-Cosgrove, his children Melissa & Daniel Feldstein, Rochelle & Richard Pelkey, Richard Cosgrove, Charles & Georgette Cosgrove, his niece and husband Deborah & Michael Wazer, his nephew James Sulzinski, his four grandchildren, including his granddaughter Jessica Feldstein, his great-nephew M.J. Wazer and great-nieces Allison Wazer and Megan Sulzinski along with his eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen & Ed LeBlanc, and his father, Arnold Cosgrove and his stepdaughter, Darlene Spencer.

Arnold served in the Marine Corps in 1953 and afterwards served in the Reserves for seven years. He had a fulfilling career of 45 years that included working at HELCO Underground Department, CT Electric Light and Power in Test Maintenance, and NorthEast Utilities in the Supervision of Substation Maintenance.

He was a dedicated member of Trinity Episcopal Parish where he worshipped and was a Property Committee Volunteer. Arnold was a life member of the East Glastonbury Fish & Game, and an active member of the CT Fly Fisherman Association, and the NRA.

Known for his kindness and love, Arnold enjoyed fly fishing, reading books on his porch, vacationing in Aruba, fly fishing trips to Chile and Montana, cooking, and savoring a glass of wine. He was particularly famous for cooking his corned beef and prime rib dishes. Arnold was grateful for the time he was able to spend with his family especially M.J., Allison and Jessica.

The family would like to send a special thank you to all their friends and family for their love and support especially Lynne, John and Zina.

Arnold’s wife, Barbara, would like to send a special note:

My Sweety. You will live on in my heart forever and I am forever grateful for the life we shared and for your loving, gentle kindness and warm smile you always shared with me. You will forever be my knight in shining armor. All my love, Your Honey.

A service to honor Arnold's life will be held on September 7, 2024 at 11am at Trinity Episcopal Parish, 300 Main Street, Weathersfield, CT.
