Antonio Rotundo

Antonio “Tony” Rotundo passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023

He was a resident of East Hampton for over 50 years. Tony was born in Calabria, Italy on October 2, 1933. He was the son of the late Frank & Rosina Rotundo. Tony is survived by his daughter Rosa McGibney and her husband Richard, son Frank Rotundo and his wife Meg, Brother Luigi Rotundo and his late wife Maryann, sister's Vincenzina Perri, Antonia Fazio & her late husband Vincenzo and Phyllis Suma & husband Tony, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by his wife Michelina Rotundo (Fazio), his youngest daughter, Frances Rotundo & Grand-daughter Olivia M. Rotundo.

Tony came to the United States with his family, after living in Australia. He and his wife worked selflessly to build a beautiful life & home for themselves, their children and grandchildren.

For almost 25 years Tony worked for Hartford Electric Light/Connecticut Light & Power. There he worked as an equipment operator and was Chief of Building Maintenance. There he formed long lasting bonds with a group of amazing friends that included practical jokes, witty humor, and a lifetime of memories. 

Tony was an avid hunter, winemaker and family man. He was passionate in everything that he did, whether it was making sauce or soppressata, splitting wood, or in the garden. 

After the passing of his wife, Tony enjoyed the rest of his years with his late partner, Ann Hale. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their families. Tony was loved by all and will be dearly missed. 

Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St East Hampton on Thursday April 27th from 5PM until 7PM. Funeral services will be held Friday April 28th at 10:30AM in the First Congregational Church Portland CT 554 Main St Portland CT 06480. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in East Hampton.
