On Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 Alexander Douglas Ayers, age 30, was sent home to sit alongside Christ. Alex was born in Manchester, CT on Valentine’s Day, February 14th 1992 and was the beloved son of his mother Robin Odum, father Douglas Ayers, stepfather Lee Odum, and stepmother Shelley Deskus-Renaud. Alex is survived by his sister Emily McLain and her husband Ian McLain, his nephew Silas McLain, his step siblings Tyler and Ashley Fauxbel, Haylee and Zachary Renaud, Jennifer Odum-Ryan, and Leanne Odum, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was the cherished grandson of Roger Boober, Joyce Ward, and Shirley Ayers. Alex grew up in Eastford, CT and Marlborough, CT and was in the class of 2010 at RHAM High School. He was an incredibly empathetic and helpful young man. He often dropped everything to prioritize his friends and family. Alex was a skilled craftsman and will be fondly remembered by the stone walls he built and houses he renovated. There wasn’t much Alex wasn’t capable of. He always enhanced every gathering with his confident and fun-loving demeanor. As a child he was known for his epically constructed treehouses and love for nature and animals. His favorite places on Earth were Harkness Memorial State Park, Salmon River, and Lake Terramuggus. Alex will be lovingly embraced forever in our hearts, our memories, and our prayers.
Alex’s memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 at Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St. East Hampton, CT. Calling hours are from 5:00pm-7:30pm and spiritual service is from 7:30pm-8:00pm.
