Willie H. Mills, 75, departed this life Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Bay State Hospital, Springfield, MA after a brief illness.  He was born in Macon, GA, February 17, 1942.  He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Susan W. Mills, his Mother Bessie M. (McClenden-Mills) Butts, his Father John W. Mills, Sr and Step-Father, William F. Butts.  Willie was a former employee at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT. before moving on to Pratt & Whitney of Middletown, CT. where he later retired.

Later he and his late wife, Susan relocated from Connecticut to her home of Thornville, Ohio, started a business and remained there for over 35 years.  They traveled to many interesting places and accomplished lots of interesting things with their “New” Herb business.

After the death of his wife, in February, 2016, Willie returned back to the East Coast and landed in Easthampton, MA where he became a Part-time School Crossing Guard for the town of Easthampton, MA and a Part-time volunteer at Cooley Dickinson Hospital of Northampton, MA.  Willie enjoyed helping others, loving and caring for his ‘family’ animals, especially his cat 

“Boo Boo”.

Besides his wife and parents he was also predeceased by one Brother, John W. Mills, Jr., two Sisters, Lavenia Mills and Gussie M. (Mills) Huff, two Nephews, Anthony Huff and Baby Frankie Mills.

He leaves to morn his two Sisters, Frances L. (Mills) Glen of Snellville, GA, Lillie (Tina) M. (Mills) Gibson of Middletown, CT., two adopted Sons, Billy Mills and Benji Mills of Heath, OH.  His “Special Neice Katrina A. Spicer-Lindquist with whom he resided,in Easthampton, MA, other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, family and friends.

The family will received guests starting at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 24, 2017 followed by funeral services at 10:30 am at Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main Street, East Hampton, CT. 06424.
