Bruce Egan Roberts

Bruce Roberts, 63, of Norwich (formally of Portland and Cobalt) died unexpectedly on Monday, October 22, 2018. Born August 5, 1955 to the late John and Catherine Roberts, Bruce grew up in Marlborough, and was a 1974 graduate of RHAM High School. He was the owner of the Hair Changes Salon in Glastonbury, and was also employed by Cosmo Prof (in Rocky Hill and Norwich) when he was forced to leave due to personal illness. Bruce was a talented hairdresser with an artistic eye who loved being around people. He was always there to listen, offer sage advice, and help in any way he could. He will be remembered as a friendly, caring man with an amazing sense of humor.

Bruce loved animals and they loved him back. He volunteered for many years for Protectors of Animals. He also loved his many friends, fishing, reading, art, and the activities and loving support which he received from the residents of the Falls Mill Condo Complex in which he resided in Norwich. Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his loving partner of 19 years, Dr. Kathleen McShane. He is survived by his sister, Willa Winter of Chicago, two brothers William Roberts of Marlborough, and Daniel Roberts and his wife Donna Roberts of Colchester, two nephews, Andrew Winter of Chicago, Philip Roberts of Colchester, and a niece, Krystan Keller and her husband Michael, as well as two great nephews, Gavin and Thomas Keller of Colchester. He is also survived by his aunt, Clara Savoy and several cousins in New Brunswick, Canada. We must also mentioned that he leaves behind him much loved pet, Pig. It was Bruce’s wish that he be cremated and there not be a formal viewing or funeral. It was also his wish that his and Kate’s ashes be taken to Newport, Rhode Island, the place they both loved.
