Albert D. Thomas (August 4, 1947 - June 29, 2018) exited the building.
He was “thrifty” and if it was up to him that’s all it would say. Luckily, he didn’t give us instructions and we wouldn’t listen to them anyway. He loved (in no particular order): his wife, Elizabeth, of 43 years, his daughters Amanda Drew (Cromwell), Stephanie Thomas (Charlottesville, VA), Nichole Lewis (East Hampton) and Meghan Thomas (Ft. Pierce, FL), his grandchildren Brooke, Michael, Kellie, Nathan and Abigail, any animal that would let him pet it, Gloria Hyjek (East Hampton) whom we all consider to be family, the Yankees, fake news, snacks, desserts and dirty jokes. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked in the alarm industry until his retirement. He retired to Florida and learned to love aquasize. He leaves behind many family and friends from all across the country. We believe he is up in heaven with his 3 brothers arguing over something political. His last wish was to take all of his grandchildren to Universal to see the pure joy in their eyes. We invite everyone to come in 2019.
There will be a celebration of life at Hilltop Covenant Church in Cromwell on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 12 pm. No sadness is allowed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Legion Post 105 to install the Valor Green that honors veterans. www.valourgreenveteransmemorial.com
