Peter Kenneth Jones

Peter Kenneth Jones, 60, of East Haddam passed in the early hours of February 5th, 2018 with his wife and daughter at his side after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.  He was the firstborn and only son of Kenneth and Lucille Jones of Portland, and a cherished brother to Edie Williams of Haddam and Holly Bankoski of Moodus. He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Judy, and his only daughter, Veronica, who were his greatest loves in life along with his family and the outdoors. Peter gave his love and kindness unconditionally to friends and acquaintances, whether he had known them all his life or a few weeks. His acts of kindness and love were often under the radar, but those who knew him know that it was in his nature to give the shirt off his back if they needed it. He was often described as many as the greatest, kindest, most generous and genuine person one could meet. Everyone who has met Peter knows that in some way, he has touched their lives and forever changed them; whether it was through teaching, tips, kindness, or jokes. He was a light in the world that will be deeply missed by all.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St., East Hampton on Saturday February 10th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Immediately following calling hours, a funeral service and lunch will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church 31 Main St. in East Haddam with funeral service beginning at 11:30AM.
