Dear Meeker Family: My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Alex. We will never get used to losing our loved ones in death because as it says at Ecclesiastes 3:11, we were created with everlasting life in view. But may you find comfort in knowing that Almighty God has promised that soon he will swallow up death forever along with the pain that it brings. (Isaiah 25:8) God has also promised that he will return Alex to you as it says at John 5:28,29. You can also learn more about what happens when a loved one dies at JW.org.

My heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved, Alex. Please know that Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ is aware of your pain and they care for you. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) . I pray that you are able to find comfort in God's promise of paradise where there will be no more pain and sorrow (Revelation 21:4,5) and the many wonderful memories of your loved one becoming a reality in the future resurrection in paradise. Every time I would have an encounter with Alex either at the Medical Center or somewhere in town I was struck by his sense of peace. He never complained,never asked to go to the front of the line just was so polite and kind. There is quite a group of baseball fans in Heaven from East Hampton all ready and I am sure they have taken Alex into their arms and hearts and have given him a new team to star on! May God bless you and may Alex rest easily now

I never had the privilege to meet Alex. I went to school with Tracy and was following many of their journey through posts and occasional messages. My heart breaks for the loss of this young man. It is so clear that the love and courage he shared with others was immeasurable. He was a hero.
My thoughts and prayers continue for the family and friends. God bless you and keep you all. I am so sorry. There are just no words eloquent enough to express myself. Words just can't do justice.

To Tracy and the rest of Alex's family and friends, words can't express how sorry I am. Alex was such an optimistic and happy person, you would've never known he was fighting this awful disease. He glowed with such positivity it was amazing. I admire his strength so much and hope you guys find comfort in knowing that he's no longer suffering. I always really enjoyed talking to Alex whether it was at a friend's house or Team Fitness when we'd be the only crazy people working out at 11pm. He will be so greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to Alex's family members. Although I never met him, he was mentioned often by his Uncle Scott Meeker, with whom we are neighbors. My son Ronnie spoke of him in glowing terms. He will be missed by his family and friends. I am so sincerely sorry at the loss of this young man.
